Everything you need to know before you order
Sizing & Fit
Each product page includes a size selector. We recommend measuring your bust, waist, and hips and comparing them to our Size Guide before ordering. Do not rely on your usual clothing size — occasionwear sizing runs differently from everyday fashion. When in doubt, size up.
Most styles run true to size when compared against our size chart. However, some fitted and mermaid silhouettes run slightly small due to their tailored construction — we note this on individual product pages. Always check the product-specific fit note before ordering.
We carry US 2 through US 20 across most styles. Size availability varies by product and is shown on each product page. If your size is unavailable, email us at hello@vowandvelvet.shop — custom sizing may be available.
Size up. Our gowns feature lace-up or zip backs that allow room to adjust. A dress that is slightly large can be taken in by a tailor; one that is too small cannot be let out. When in doubt, the larger size is always the safer choice.

Shipping & Delivery
All dresses in our current edit are ready to ship. Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days and typically arrive within 7–12 business days for standard shipping, or 3–5 business days for expedited shipping. You will receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order ships.
We recommend ordering at least 3 weeks before your event. This allows time for standard delivery plus any exchange if the sizing isn't right. If your event is sooner, select expedited shipping at checkout and contact us at hello@vowandvelvet.shop so we can prioritize your order.
Yes. We ship to the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and most of Europe. Shipping times and rates are calculated at checkout based on your location. International orders may be subject to local customs duties and taxes, which are the responsibility of the customer.
Once your order ships, you will receive a confirmation email with a tracking number. You can use this to track your parcel directly with the carrier. If you haven't received a tracking email within 3 business days of ordering, check your spam folder or contact us.
Returns & Exchanges
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery on unworn, unaltered items with all original tags attached. Items must be in their original condition — free of marks, scents, or alterations. To initiate a return, email hello@vowandvelvet.shop with your order number. Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days of receiving the returned item.
Yes. Size exchanges are our priority — contact us as soon as you receive your order if the fit isn't right. Subject to availability, we will ship the replacement size as quickly as possible. If your required size is unavailable, you will receive a full refund.
Screen color settings can cause slight variation between product images and the item received — we note any significant differences on product pages. If you feel the item was materially misrepresented, contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order and we will resolve it promptly.
No. Returns are only accepted on unworn items with original tags attached. Items that show signs of wear, alteration, or damage will not be accepted and will be returned to the sender.
Orders & Payments
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), as well as Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal. All transactions are processed securely through Shopify Payments.
Orders can be cancelled or amended within 12 hours of being placed. After this window, your order will have entered fulfilment and changes may not be possible. Contact us immediately at hello@vowandvelvet.shop if you need to make a change.
Yes. All payments are processed through Shopify's secure checkout infrastructure. We do not store any card or payment details on our end.

Yes — this is one of our favourite things to help with. Email us at hello@vowandvelvet.shop with your occasion, dress code, general colouring, and any preferences. We'll reply with personalised recommendations within 24 hours.
Our Wedding Guest collection is built specifically for this. Every piece is chosen to honour the occasion — elegant enough to show respect for the day, distinctive enough to reflect your personal style.
